The Meaning Of ONE
Multiplied By One Org is a Canadian Registered Charity for trauma and dissociative disorders and their loved ones.
The origins of this organization’s name came from the fact that any number multiplied by one remains the same. Just like one person may have many parts or states, they are also “one whole” in functional multiplicity.
There are very few resources for dissociative disorders, particularly Dissociative Identity Disorder. In Canada, like other countries, institutions and organizations know little, if anything, about treating this community. We seek to be part of the change.
Where there are few services, build them. When there is no hope, create it.

The second fiscal year of Multiplied By One Org ended on March 31st, 2024. The building up of this organization was accomplished entirely via equity, volunteer hours, and perseverance.

Melissa C. Water
Founder and Executive Director
As the founder of Multiplied By One Org, Melissa C. Water is an author and mental health advocate who lives with Dissociative Identity Disorder and Tourette syndrome. Through projects like The Bag System podcast, she hopes to demonstrate the human element in a concept so often viewed as tragic or fascinating.
Her vision for this organization is her priority mission, and the individuals involved are the forces driving her forward.
Ian Rawson
President of the Board
Ian, also known as Apathy, began as a Multiplied By One Org member in 2022 and later served as a support group host. Apathy consistently demonstrates intuition and outreach to those in need of added support.
Via lived experience, an invested mindset for our people, and admirable values, Ian is more than an ally; he is a leader. Ian’s strength of character leads in a manner that aligns with our mission and vision.
Rainbow Edgar
Vice President of the Board
Rainbow Edgar was among the earliest to share the vision of Multiplied By One. As a support group host, they have helped create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for members.
Rainbow recently began their career as a psychotherapist after receiving their limited license in clinical social work. They are passionate about uplifting lived experiences and celebrating neurodiversity.

Mosaic is a longstanding volunteer of Multiplied By One Org, and they now sit on the Board of Directors as Secretary.
Lorenzo Guerriero
Treasurer of the Board
As a dedicated ally, Lorenzo sits on the board as Treasurer and is an accountant based in Montreal, Canada.
Megan Novak
Director of the Board
Megan, as a therapist working with trauma and dissociation is an ally and a dedicated support to this community.
Kim Sandbrink
Director of the Board
Kim is a Social Worker in the USA with 23 years of professional experience, an author of a children’s book on coping with trauma, and a solid ally to this community.
